yasamim and Lily

Yasamin is originally from Iran. She has lived in London for over 21 years. Back in Iran, she was a reporter and a Sociologist. Since coming to the UK she has worked as an interpreter and an immigration advisor, helping new arrivals to deal with the British legal system - she found the job very rewarding and would often be sent flowers and sweets by grateful clients who’s lives she helped change for the better lives.

Yasamin's real love is poetry and she has written poems ever since she was 10 years old - she has established poetry group and one day hopes to get a book published back in her homeland. She loves London but misses Iran immensely. She has managed to return a few times but when there, has to keep a low profile.

Yasamin's dog, Lily, was cute but vicious - she nearly bit my fingers off when I tried to pat her. Unlike Lily, Yasmin was immensely friendly and I really enjoyed chatting to her.
